About this travel presentation

In January 2013, Beverly and I joined our travel buddies, Mary and Gary for a tour across Costa Rica. This is a small Central American country that did away with a standing army and is a destination of safety for many Central and South Americans who want to emigrate. 

Nowadays the focus is all on the refugees arriving at the US-Mexican border and I suppose that would seem like a more attractive country in which to claim asylum, but the standard of living in Costa Rica is better than in surrounding nations. Poverty is there, and so I'm sure there are all the evils of capitalist corporate exploitation, but we stayed in the capital and we talked to the people and generally we saw friendly, industrious folk. 

The natural beauty was truly unforgettable. From the Caribbean coast we bused inland to the mountains and down to the Pacific shore. Come have a look as I get to relive the adventure.
